To Be Remembered
Photographic Project by Dimitar Tzvetanov

While traveling through the villages around Kyustendil and Dupnitsa in Bulgaria, I kept seeing abandoned houses — silent, forgotten, falling apart.

Each one made me wonder: Who lived here? What stories were born within these walls?

Now, only faded obituary notices remain on doors. Sometimes, an old portrait peeks through a crumbled wall — a glimpse into a life long gone.

Soon, these homes will disappear. No one will remember how they looked, nor the people who built them with sweat and sacrifice.

Nature reclaims all. But memory can resist.

This project was born from a simple wish:
To remember.
